20 in their 20’s: David Giesige

The Greater Cleveland Career Consortium is thrilled to announce that our Director of Career Pathways, David Giesige, has been named as one of Crain’s 20 in their 20s honorees for 2023! Crain’s Cleveland presents this award to up-and-coming leaders within local businesses and organizations who have not yet turned 30—highlighting our region’s immense talent.

David, 29, joined the GCCC team in November 2022 as Manager of Employer Engagement and was quickly promoted to Senior Manager before landing his current role in August 2023. As Director of Career Pathways, David oversees the implementation of the PACE framework and manages relationships with cross-sector partners—especially educators, youth-serving nonprofits, and industry professionals—who are on the ground, developing and implementing career pathways opportunities for Greater Cleveland’s 6th-12th grade students.

“David’s passion for career awareness and exploration is palpable and comes from a place of personal experience.”

David’s passion for career awareness and exploration is palpable and comes from a place of personal experience. His own career journey has been unconventional and full of a wide array of experiences, both in the United States and abroad, that help guide his vision for providing students with the supports and guidance he did not receive in middle and high school. David centers students in his decision-making and encourages other GCCC stakeholders to do the same. He also serves as one of the first contacts many partners make with the GCCC, a role to which he is well suited, given his dynamic and friendly personality. Please join us in congratulating David!
